Being an architecture student, traveling helps me discover new styles and get inspired in various ways. One of the places in my bucketlist is for sure Santorini.

Santorini is an island in the southern Aegean Sea, about 200 km southeast from the Greek mainland. It is the largest island of a small, circular archipelago, which bears the same name and is the remnant of a caldera.

The island is known for its unique architecture, its blue houses -mostly hotels- that are in perfect harmony with the blue mediterranean sea. The superposition of the houses one above the other makes it so many times more beautiful. The main colors are the blue and the white, simple thus very charmings. These colors can’t but remind me of Chefchaouen, one of the most lovely cities of Morocco.

One thing that i don’t like about the island is how touristy it got duing the last years, tourist is essential for Santorini to survive but some tourist act in very inmature ways, which doesn’t help preserve it. Moreover most of the people that visit the place don’t take the time to enjoy how goergous the chapel is but only to take pictures that will be then shared on social media, I find that pretty sad.
