Reign is a serie that was released in 2013 and in 2017, it is a historical romantic drama television series directed by Laurie McCarthy and Stephanie SenGupta. Set in the late-sixteenth century, the series revolves around the life of Mary, Queen of Scots, and her rise to power in the French court.
While watching the show i was amazed by the decor realization and the impressive architectural compositions mainly castles and domains. In the first and second season the story was mainly based in France as Mary queen of scots married Francis the second. The main buildings displayed during this fase where: château d’Amboise, château de Blois, château du Louvre and château de Fontainebleau.
During the third season, the story is based on England and Scotland, the events are shoot in the following places:
I really enjoy watching series and movies based on old true events as it’s a way for me to discover and see the evolution of architecture throught the times, and how the historical, social and political factors affect architecture.
Talking about architecture and movies i could also talk for hours about three of my favorite shows ever, but i’ll just share them below as they’re very interesting ones worth watching:
